Drew began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while in college, where he was pursuing a degree in exercise science. His focus quickly pivoted from strength and conditioning to doing as much Jiu-Jitsu as possible; training daily and competing in tournaments on a frequent basis throughout his White-Blue belt years.
After graduation Drew worked as a Project Manager for a manufacturing company by day, and landed his first position as a part time BJJ Instructor in the evenings. By the time he was a purple belt he was teaching both Adult and Kids classes at two different academies.
At Brown belt Drew was inspired to resume an active competition schedule, and began regularly competing in IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) tournaments throughout the United States, winning several of them. He was awarded his Black Belt in December of 2020, and wasted no time jumping into competition in 2021.
Now a Black Belt, and a seasoned Practitioner, Drew is focused on building Champlin Jiu-Jitsu Academy, and bringing the best BJJ possible to Northeast Indianapolis.
